North Georgia cabin rentals are the perfect way to explore the nature and homespun charm of North Georgia. With scenic trails to hike or drive on, old mining towns to explore and Civil War and gold rush locations to visit, it is the perfect vacation spot for a history buff. And what better way to really get back to the austere and provincial lifestyle of old time Georgia than staying in North Georgia cabin rentals on a vacation? Although cabins today have luxuries that a Southern belle of yesteryear couldn't even imagine, the charm is undeniable. However with all the wonders of North Georgia to explore and enjoy, you won't spend much time in your cabins. Lake Blue Ridge One of the most beautiful attractions in North Georgia is Lake Blue Ridge. Situated on the southernmost tip of the Appalachian Trail, surrounded by the Blue Ridge mountain range, Lake Blue Ridge is an ideal spot for vacationers to enjoy their day after a good night's sleep in their cabin. With shoreline that bumps up against the Chattahoochee National Forest, a marina, boat ramps, pontoon rentals and public swimming, it's the perfect place to cool off during a sweaty Georgian summer. There are campsites sprinkled around the lake area, and grounds perfect for picnicking. There is also great fishing at Lake Blue Ridge. The lake is teeming with bass, catfish, perch, walleye and even white bass. Other Natural Attractions North Georgia has a lot of other natural attractions other than Lake Blue Ridge. There are lovely waterfalls throughout the state, like the Falls on Ward Creek in Lumpkin county, Roxann Falls in Banks county and the 186 foot Toccoa Falls in Stephens County. There is also the Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge, which has cabins and campsites. Blue Ridge Scenic Railway Another vacation destination for those taking a holiday in North Georgia is the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. The Railway offers a charming four hour train ride from the historic depot in Blue ridge, through the lush, gorgeous Georgia countryside to McCaysville. Located right on the Georgia-Tennessee border, McCaysville and its sister city, Copperville, are old mining towns. Tourists who take the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway to visit have around two hours to explore the shops and wander from state to state at their leisure. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway only operates from March to December. In the warmer months you can purchase a package that includes inner tubing on the Toccoa River or white water rafting on the Ocoee River. And in the winter you can have a train ride with Santa and his elves. Other Attractions in North Georgia If you do want to head out in North Georgia but stick to easy going activities, there is a community theater in Blue ridge, along with a drive-in theater, a corn maze and a vineyard. Not everybody wants to go outside when they are on vacation. Some people would rather just stay inside, even if they are somewhere as beautiful as North Georgia. Cabin rentals are perfect for this type of person since luxury cabins these days have everything from big screen televisions and video game systems to pool tables and air hockey.
