Waterproof Hiking Boots
Most quality hiking boot brands come with some form of waterproofing or Gore-tex lining to help protect your feet from the elements. Gaiters are like over-socks. They fit over your lower leg and then attach to the tops of your hiking boots. Great for combining with waterproof outdoor shoes, gaiters can keep out snow, gravel, mud and rain from leaking into your shoes.
Waterproof Treatment
From mink oil to chemical waterproofing treatments, there are a number of products you can apply to your footwear to turn them into waterproof outdoor shoes. Before you apply a product, always remember to do a spot test to make sure it doesn’t stain.
