Yosemite reservations are hard to come by. The popular camp grounds fill up fast and Yosemite National Park starts taking reservations about four to six months in advance. There are 13 campgrounds at Yosemite National Park and seven of those can be reserved. In fact, reservations are almost essential between April and September as the first-come, first-served campgrounds tend to be totally booked by noon at the latest during the popular summer season. Yosemite Campground Reservations Yosemite reservations are required for the spring and summer season in Yosemite Valley’s car and RV camping. They’re also required in the summer and fall for the campgrounds in Wawona, Hodgdon Meadow, Crane Flat and Tuolumne Meadows. Most Yosemite reservations for the months of May to September are filled on the first day they become available, often within minutes of the Yosemite reservations desk opening at 7am. The reservations desk is open from 7 am to 7pm PST between November and February and from 7 am to 9 pm between March and October. You are only allowed to make two reservations per phone call or website visit. If you’d like to make more reservations, you must either hang up or log out and then call back or log back on to the Yosemite website to start a new reservation process. Cars and Campers in Yosemite National Park Car and RV camping is only available in the Yosemite Valley. However, there are numerous private campsites and RV sites around the Yosemite National Park and the park rangers can offer tips on good sites in the region. Sleeping in a car or camper is not permitted unless you’re in a designated camp site. Remember, Yosemite reservations are a hot commodity. So, plan ahead, mark your calendar and be prepared to book your campsite three to four months in advance. All Articles for RV and Camping Preparation
